- What would you hope to accomplish as the Libertarian presidential nominee? Could you break the million vote barrier?
Republicans and Democrats use great marketing to sell America a lousy product. We Libertarians are trying to sell America a great product, but with lousy marketing.
No doubt, we Libertarians have had some wonderful presidential candidates over the years. Many were deep thinkers, scholarly types who provided thoughtful, intelligent answers to serious questions about the role of freedom and individual rights in society.
And few voters listened. So, if we select a nominee similar to ones we selected in the past, we should not be surprised if few will listen again in 2008.
We may long for the days when folks would ponder and seriously debate the issues in the public square, but this is not the America we live in today. Today's American is influenced by media coverage. And the reason why the media does not cover our

Libertarian Presidential Candidate Root to Debate in New York and D.C.
Wayne Allyn Root will debate former United States Senator Mike Gravel on Fox Business Network on Friday May 16th. It is believed to be the first-ever Libertarian
Presidential debate to be televised nationally, outside of C-Span coverage during the Libertarian convention. Former Congressman Bob Barr was invited to join the
debate- but declined.
Root and Gravel will debate live for 20 minutes on Fox Business. The first round of the debate will take place from 8:10 AM to 8:20 AM EST (New York time). The
second round of the debate will take place from 8:40 AM to 8:50 AM EST.
Wayne Root has also agreed to join Barr and Gravel live and in-person in Washington D.C. on Tuesday May 20, 2008 in a Libertarian Presidential debate hosted by
Reason magazine. The Reason debate will start at 4 PM EST.
